On Sunday September 16, the Session has set aside time to have a town hall meeting with the congregation to discuss and field questions arising from our previous congregational meeting (where we discussed by law changes). NEXT CONGREGATIONAL MEETING HAS BEEN POSTPONED. The Congregational Meeting on June 10 regarding our proposed By-laws was so productive that Session feels it needs to postpone our next meeting to give them sufficient time to meet and address some the issues raised. The new date has not yet been set, but will be announced soon. Please talk to any of the Elders if you have questions.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETINGS
The Session has called for two special Congregational Meetings in June. The first will be on Sunday June 10, with a potluck dinner at 5pm, discussion of proposed church by-laws at 6pm. On Sunday, June 24, well meet to vote on approving the proposed by-laws: a potluck dinner at 5pm and then our congregational business at 6pm. Child care will be provided. Copies of the new proposed by-laws will be made available one week before the first congregational meeting. Please talk to any of the Elders if you have questions.
REPORT ON SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING:
Sunday, December 17, our Congregation met in a special meeting to hear a report from the Nominating Committee and to elect new Elders. The Nominating Committee presented their report and, after hearing no nominations from the floor, the congregation voted to approve Chuck A. and Cindy M. as Elders for the Class of 2009. Upon examination from the Session, Chuck and Cindy will be ordained and installed as Elders during our worship service Sunday February 4. Please pray for them and give them your support as they lead in our midst.
TACO NIGHT!
The Deacons are holding a Taco Night fundraiser on Sun. Jan. 21 from 5pm-7. Please join us for a delicious authentic Mexican Taco Dinner and Fellowship! We will be serving a variety of tacos: chicken, beef, vegetarian and shrimp (courtesy of the Spanglers!) and all the trimmings. In addition to the tacos, we will be serving homemade rice and beans, fruit, dessert and beverages. This delicious dinner is $8.00 for adults, and $6.50 for children (with free seconds as long as they last!). Any profit made from the dinner will go to the Deacon Fund and will be used to provide for the Congregation, visitors and others in need in our community. If you have any questions, please call a Deacon!
Mark your calendars now for this yummy night and watch the bulletin and weekly e-mail for more info!

STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY
Sunday, Nov. 12.
During the service we dedicated our pledges of time, money, and talent for 2007 to our God. Stewardship letters and Commitment Sheets were mailed out and are available on the table in the Social Hall and on our website (see link above). Pray about how you can give back to God in faithfulness and in thankfulness for what He has done and is doing for you and your family. You may turn in your Commitment Sheet in the offering plate or to the church office. Even if you have submitted one in the past, please fill out a 2007 Commitment Sheet for time and talents so we may have an updated awareness of how God is calling you to serve. Thank you for your faithfulness in giving to our church of your money, time, talents and hearts!
Download a copy of the Stewardship Commitment Form PDF to print, fill-in, and return to the Peace office (even by email).
OFFERING AND ATTENDANCE REPORT: Sun. Nov. 12, 2006: Attendance: 75; General Offering: $288.16; Pledges: $2,228.00; Debt Reduction: $25.00.
COMMITMENT SHEETS may still be turned in.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
The Session has set aside time for an informational meeting for our congregation on Sunday, November 19 after church to share some of the recent developments within our denomination and our Presbytery. In our June newsletter, the Session shared some concerns with the upcoming General Assembly and in particular with the proposed Peace, Unity and Purity (PUP) Report, which was passed and approved by this Assembly. The Sacramento Presbytery met in September to respond to the General Assemblys actions and to clarify what ordination standards will be required and expected within our Presbytery. It is the Sessions intent to share this information with you and to answer any questions you might have about these issues. No congregational action will be taken or considered surrounding these issues at this informational meeting. Information about the PUP Report, the denominational ordination standards and the Sacramento Presbyterys actions will be made available. Please talk to any of the Elders if you have any further questions about this informational meeting.
PER CAPITA
Each year Peace makes Per Capita payments to the General Assembly and the Synod of the Pacific based on how many active members we have. This is a voluntary payment which congregations make to help support the larger church. In order to help defray the costs of these payments, we are asking each active member to pay for their Per Capita fees above and beyond their annual pledge. Designated envelopes (blue) are available on the table in the Social Hall and in the friendship folder. Checks can be made to the church in the amount of $17.00 per member. Thank you for helping.
CHRISTIAN ED MEETING:
We had a great planning meeting on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9am. to 12pm planning for Christian Education including Adults, Youth and Children. If you have any questions, contact Elder Tracy F.
