PASSOVER SEDER 2006

We celebrated our first Seder dinner as a church family on Maundy-Thursday of Holy Week. About 40 adults and children gathered to remember the Passover, and to celebrate how Jesus is our Promised Messiah, and our Passover. We remembered the story of the Exodus and Christ’s journey to the cross on our behalf, and we affirmed that Jesus represents all the promises and hopes of Israel, for a Deliverer and Savior. We ate grapes, matzah bread, roast chicken and lamb, and bitter herbs to remind us of God’s provision, of how Christ’s body was broken for us, and of how painful life can be and is without God in our lives. We drank grape juice as a reminder of Christ’s blood that was spilled for us, and of God’s blessings for us and His gift of salvation. We praised God for His gift of Jesus, and we sang songs in Hebrew to celebrate the grace of our God. We look forward to celebrating the Seder again next year, and we hope you will join us for that special time. These pictures will help show you what a meaningful time it was for each of us who were there.
